On Tuesday April 10, 2018 Jasper County Sheriff’s Department Drug Unit, K-9 Team and Remington Police Department, executed an arrest warrant for Dakota J Burton, age 23 from Remington, Indiana.
Upon arrival at the home, Narcotics Units made contact with Jessica Call, the driver of a SUV parked in the driveway. Donald Lyons was a passenger in Call’s vehicle.
The Jasper County K-9 team alerted on Call’s vehicle during the investigation and Illicit drugs and paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Dakota J. Burton was found in a separate vehicle in the driveway and was taken into custody on a warrant from White County for possession of drugs. While suspects were being detained, Donald Lyons attempted to flee on foot from the officers but was quickly restrained. Suspects were charged with Dealing and Possession of Methamphamine, Possession of Hypodermic Needles, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. Donald Lyons received an additional charge of Resisting Law Enforcement. The drug charges were enhanced to Level 3, 5 and 6 felony charges because suspects were within 500 feet of a school.
ALL SUSPECTS ARE CONSIDERED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
