On January 29, 2018 at approximately 10:00 A.M. Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy assigned as a school resource officer, initiated an investigation into a possible child exploitation of a female under the age of fifteen.
During the investigation Jasper County Sheriff’s SRO identified the suspect as a Cameron M. Scales, age 21 of Lowell, Indiana. It was determined that Scales was utilizing electronic devices to have video contact with the underage victim. The photos and video revealed the victim to have been viewed while in a state of undressed.
Upon making contact with the suspect, Mr. Scales during an interview admitted to possessing the nude images and to enticing the victim into actions of a sexual nature. The investigation is continuing by Jasper County Sheriff’s Detectives and Indiana State Police Detectives.
Scales was arrested and incarcerated at the Jasper County Law Enforcement and Detention Center on the charges of: Child Exploitation, a Level 5 Felony and Vicarious Sexual Gratification, a Level 5 Felony. Scales posted a $15,000.00 cash bond on February 2, 2018.
ALL SUSPECTS ARE CONSIDERED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
