PRESS RELEASE

October 23, 2017

 

On Sunday, October 22, 2017 at approximately 12:41 AM (central time) the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous report of an underage drinking party at a residence southwest of Remington, Indiana.

Upon arrival in the area by Jasper County Deputies a large number of vehicles were parked at the residence, and multiple individuals were observed attempting to flee the area on foot, some ran inside the residence and some to nearby woods.

Contact was made with a juvenile individual who resided at the residence and allegedly arranged the party. The parents of the juvenile subject were not at home when Officers arrived.

Approximately 23 individuals were detained for investigation purposes. Individuals were located inside the residence and some returned back to the residence after fleeing on foot.

During the investigation at the scene, the following adults were arrested:

18 year old Isaac A. Bahler  of Wolcott, Indiana attempted to run from Officers, was apprehended and placed under arrest for resisting law enforcement a class A misdemeanor. Bahler’s vehicle contained over 30 grams of suspected marijuana, a scale, items of paraphernalia and $180 in cash.

Bahler was also charged with Minor Consumption a Class C misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana over 30 grams a Level 6 felony, Possession of Paraphernalia a Class C Misdemeanor, and Dealing Marijuana a Class A misdemeanor.

Alyssa N. Sheets age 19 of Wolcott, Indiana was charged with Minor Consumption of Alcohol a Class C Misdemeanor.

Torie L. Miller age 18 of Wolcott, Indiana was charged with Minor Consumption of Alcohol a Class C Misdemeanor.

          Approximately 20 under aged individuals were released to parents. Some of the juveniles will have intake forms forwarded to Jasper County Probation for review of alcohol related offenses.

          Investigation continues by the Jasper County Sheriff‘s Office.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
