On Friday, May 26, 2017 the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received information on a subject wanted on multiple felony warrants that was fleeing the Hopkins Park, Illinois area with a possible route of travel coming into Jasper County.  The information was being provided through a Federal Law Enforcement Agency working in concert with area drug task force units.

The wanted subject identified as Dennis Hogan, age 30, (street name of Dino) of Hopkins Park, Illinois was wanted on violent felony involving the use of a firearm and was a prime suspect in narcotics trade occurring within the two state area.  Information from the task force that was involved in the search for this suspect had warned other law enforcement agencies that the subject was to be considered armed and dangerous.

With a possible route of travel on State Road 14 through the Parr area of Jasper County, an activation of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Tactical Team was implemented.  Team members deployed along the suspected route that the suspect may be traveling. At approximately 5:10 P.M. Sheriffs’ units located the suspect, Hogan, riding in the rear passenger compartment of a red Ford Escape passenger vehicle.

Several Officers conducted a traffic stop after blocking a section of State Rd 14 east of the I-65 interchange.  The suspect, Hogan, was taken into custody without incident and is being held on warrants from the Kankakee, Illinois authorities at the Jasper County Law Enforcement and Detention Center.  Hogan is awaiting a hearing on extradition to Illinois.

Sheriff Risner would like to commend the corporation between multi state task force agencies and the quick response by the Sheriffs’ Tactical Team to bring a wanted fugitive into custody without endangerment to the citizens of Jasper County.

ALL SUSPECTS ARE CONSIDERED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
