On Saturday, April 1, 2017 at approximately 10:42pm, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Trail Tree gas station located west of Interstate 65 on State Road 114.

Witnesses at the business reported a white male, 6 feet tall, a bandanna covering his face, a “beanie” type hat, short sandy brown or blonde hair, dark colored letterman style jacket, jeans with holes, brandishing a dark colored semi automatic type pistol and approached the fuel desk of the business demanding money or he would shoot.  

The suspect left the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and entered into silver in color passenger car that was parked on the north side of the business in the fuel isle facing eastbound. The vehicle left the business travelling eastbound to Interstate 65 where it entered onto the southbound on-ramp travelling southbound. Witnesses were unable to obtain a license plate number.

A search for the suspect vehicle by multiple agencies was conducted along Interstate 65 yielded no results.

This crime is under investigation by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information regarding this incident are asked to contact the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 219-866-7344 and ask for the detective bureau.
